2. COMMISSION REQUESTS
Submitting a project through the CG Music project builder is a request for services. It does not by itself guarantee that CG Music will accept the project.
The estimated price range displayed by the project builder is an estimate only.
CG Music will review the request and may ask for additional information before confirming the project.
A project becomes confirmed when CG Music accepts the project and provides or approves the final project terms, including the final price where applicable.
3. QUOTES
Website estimates are intended to give an indication of likely pricing based on the information supplied.
They are not final quotations.
The final price may differ where the scope, complexity, files, requirements or other circumstances of the project require additional work.
The final quote will be made clear before payment is requested.
If the project scope changes after confirmation, additional charges may apply. Any additional charge will be communicated separately.
4. PAYMENT
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the confirmed project price is payable 100% upfront before work begins.
Payments may be processed securely through Stripe.
CG Music does not consider a payment complete until successful payment has been confirmed through the relevant payment system.
Additional services or scope changes may be charged separately.
These may include:
- Additional revisions
- Stems
- Additional versions
- Additional deliverables
- Scope changes
- Other work requested outside the confirmed project
5. WHEN WORK BEGINS
Submitting a request does not start the project's turnaround period.
Unless otherwise agreed, the turnaround period begins once:
- The project has been confirmed by CG Music
- The required initial payment has been received
- CG Music has received the files, information and materials reasonably required to begin work
Delays in providing required information, files or feedback may delay the project.
6. TURNAROUND TIMES
Any turnaround time shown by CG Music is an estimate or agreed delivery target rather than a guarantee that circumstances outside reasonable control can never affect delivery.
CG Music will make reasonable efforts to meet the stated turnaround.
Where a turnaround period is agreed in days, the final day of that period runs until 23:59 UK time. For example, a 3-day turnaround that begins on Monday 10th will be delivered back to the client no later than 23:59 UK time on Thursday 13th.
If a project is delayed materially, CG Music will communicate this to the client.
Priority delivery, where offered and accepted, may carry an additional charge.
7. CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES
The client is responsible for:
- Providing accurate project information
- Supplying files in a usable format
- Responding to reasonable project questions
- Providing feedback where required
- Ensuring they have permission to provide and use submitted material
- Reviewing deliverables within a reasonable period
- Keeping their account and contact details accurate
CG Music is not responsible for delays caused by missing, incorrect, corrupted or late client materials.
8. REMOTE SERVICES
CG Music currently operates primarily as a remote service.
Unless specifically agreed otherwise, a commission does not include:
- Physical recording sessions
- Studio hire
- Session musicians
- Live-instrument recording by third parties
- Travel
Production may use electronic, sampled or software instruments unless otherwise agreed.
9. REVISIONS
The number of revisions included in a project will be shown or agreed as part of the project.
Unless otherwise specified, CG Music commission services may include up to two revisions.
A revision means reasonable changes to the agreed project based on client feedback.
A revision does not automatically include:
- Rebuilding the project from scratch
- Changing the original brief substantially
- Creating a substantially different song or arrangement
- Adding major new deliverables
- Work outside the original scope
Requests outside the agreed scope may require an additional fee.
Additional revisions may also be purchased where available.
10. CLIENT FEEDBACK
Clients should provide revision feedback as clearly and completely as reasonably possible.
Where practical, multiple changes should be consolidated into a revision round rather than submitted individually over an extended period.
CG Music may ask for clarification where feedback is unclear or conflicts with the original brief.
11. DELIVERY
Final deliverables depend on the service purchased and the agreement for the individual project.
Deliverables may include, where agreed:
- Final audio mix
- Instrumental
- Alternative versions
- Stems
- Other specified files
Stems are only included where explicitly stated or purchased.
Logic Pro project files, DAW sessions, plugin configurations, working files and other internal production files are not included unless CG Music explicitly agrees otherwise in writing.
12. FILE STORAGE
Clients should download and safely store final deliverables after completion.
CG Music may retain project files for operational or record-keeping purposes but does not guarantee indefinite storage or future availability of working files or deliverables.
Clients are responsible for maintaining their own backups after delivery.
13. CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
Cancellation and refund rights depend on the circumstances of the project and applicable UK consumer law.
Nothing in these Terms removes any statutory cancellation, refund or other consumer right that legally applies.
Because CG Music provides commissioned creative services, work may begin before the end of any applicable statutory cancellation period where the client expressly requests or agrees to early performance where required by law.
Where a client validly cancels after requesting that work begin during an applicable cancellation period, the client may be responsible for an amount reflecting services already supplied where permitted by law.
Once work has been completed, delivered or substantially performed, refund rights may be affected by the nature and status of the service and applicable law.
Outside statutory rights, payments are not automatically refundable simply because a client changes their mind after CG Music has begun performing the agreed work.
If CG Music is unable to provide a paid service, CG Music will address the affected payment appropriately, which may include a full or partial refund depending on the work already completed and applicable law.
Contact payments@cgmusic.co.uk regarding payment or refund issues.
14. CREATIVE SERVICES
Music production and songwriting are creative services.
While CG Music will work to the agreed brief and exercise reasonable skill and care, creative preferences are subjective.
A client's personal preference alone does not necessarily mean that the service has not been provided correctly where CG Music has substantially followed the agreed brief and provided the agreed service.
Revision rights remain available according to the agreed project terms.
15. CLIENT-SUPPLIED MATERIAL
The client confirms that they have the necessary rights, licences or permissions to provide any:
- Vocals
- Instrumentals
- Samples
- Lyrics
- Compositions
- Recordings
- Images
- Reference material
- Other copyrighted content
supplied for use in the project.
The client must not knowingly ask CG Music to use material in a way that infringes another person's rights.
CG Music may refuse to use material where there are reasonable rights or licensing concerns.
16. COMMERCIAL RELEASES, CREDITS AND RIGHTS
Payment for production services does not automatically determine every copyright, publishing, songwriting, master ownership, royalty or credit interest that may arise from creative contributions.
Where a project is intended for commercial release, relevant matters such as:
- Songwriting splits
- Publishing
- Producer royalties
- Master ownership
- Credits
- Other intellectual property interests
may require a separate written agreement depending on each person's contribution.
Any such agreement should be settled before commercial release where applicable.
Nothing in a website estimate should be interpreted as automatically transferring rights that have not expressly been agreed.
17. CG MUSIC MATERIAL AND WORKING FILES
Unless otherwise agreed, CG Music retains its rights in its own pre-existing materials, production tools, templates, techniques, know-how and other material not specifically transferred under an agreed project arrangement.
Internal project files and production sessions are not automatically part of the client's deliverables.
18. PORTFOLIO USE
CG Music will not treat unreleased client material as publicly releasable merely because it was commissioned.
Where CG Music wishes to publicly showcase client work, portfolio use should respect release status, confidentiality and any applicable agreement with the client.
Where necessary, permission will be obtained before publicly sharing unreleased or confidential client material.
19. CONFIDENTIALITY
CG Music will take reasonable care with unreleased project material and information that is clearly confidential.
Clients should identify particularly sensitive information where necessary.
Confidentiality obligations do not prevent disclosure where legally required.
20. CLIENT ACCOUNTS
Clients may be provided with an account or project portal.
Clients are responsible for keeping their login credentials secure.
You must not attempt to:
- Access another client's project
- Circumvent website security
- Access administrative systems without authorisation
- Interfere with the operation of the website
CG Music may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect the website, clients or business.
21. WEBSITE AND SERVICE AVAILABILITY
CG Music aims to keep the website and client portal available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access at all times.
Maintenance, technical failures, third-party outages or circumstances outside reasonable control may temporarily affect availability.
A temporary website outage does not remove an existing client's project or contractual rights.
22. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
To the extent permitted by law, CG Music is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the agreement was made.
CG Music is not responsible for losses caused by:
- Client-supplied material that infringes third-party rights
- Incorrect information supplied by the client
- Client failure to back up delivered files
- Unauthorised modifications made after delivery
- Third-party platforms or services outside CG Music's reasonable control
Any limitation in these Terms remains subject to rights and remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
23. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
CG Music may use third-party services for functions such as:
- Payment processing
- Hosting
- Authentication
- File storage
Those services may also operate under their own terms and privacy policies.
24. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
CG Music may update these Terms from time to time.
Changes will apply from the date the updated Terms are published and will not retrospectively alter an already agreed project in a way that removes rights or obligations already established, unless agreed or legally required.
25. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you based on your circumstances.
